I don’t want to be a tattler but I am. I spoke with a Sales Director for a global retailer recently and wanted to express my concern regarding his behavior to their Travel Manager. He told me that yet they have a travel policy to ensure consolidated traveling, he and his team always just calls directly to the hotels. They are not our customer (yet) so I had to ask our rep to speak to their travel responsible to tell what their employees are doing behind her back!
If you call directly to the hotel, where the booking is filed? How about consolidated invoicing? Did you get the cheapest price available? What if you do it in UK where the company’s management is personally responsible for their employees and something happens? Well, if you’re keen on getting your boss in jail that could be an option.
Blah, blah, blah.. I know some of you are not probably interested on processes and procedures but how about making your CFO happy and use only one channel for your hotel bookings.
